(I'm her fan since the first!). And Aliy, thanks for the run down on the dogs--there is a lot of promise here and to take second place behind Michelle, who is running almost in her home territory, is dawgone good! As for you, well, you know I'm right there at the front of your cheering section every darn minute and there are many, many more in that gang. If love, faith, prayers and good energies can help--and I know they do!--then you are held in a bubble of goodness every time you are on the trail. I'll be in Anchorage next month and hope to see you at the Musher's Banquet where I'll be working and will holler real loud at the start on the 4th. Go SPK Red!!!
Gaye Morgan-Waltonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00055225577546839810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2023068524242748614.post-2117909298501443302017-02-09T05:58:56.728-09:002017-02-09T05:58:56.728-09:00You always teach me with your very thoughtful focu...You always teach me with your very thoughtful focus on each dog, on each dog's role for the whole team, on your relationship with each dog, the environment, other people and the race. I was glad to read your comment about snow machines and very glad about your finish. And - exactly like Becky said above - it's wonderful that you are 'reclaiming your joy.' Last year's horrible trauma must always be in the back of your mind. The dogs that were with you then won't forget, either. But the passage of time helps heal. Your strength is inspiring. Keep singing to those adorable 4-leggeds and we'll be singing along with you in our hearts!
Sunnynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2023068524242748614.post-22440565306701859252017-02-08T19:13:19.235-09:002017-02-08T19:13:19.235-09:00Aliy, thank you so much for the excellent recap. B...Aliy, thank you so much for the excellent recap. But thank you more for your candor. Eventually you will be able to see snow machines on the trail and not experience any anxiety or discomfort but it does take time and repeated exposure. You are stronger for recognizing this is a process. You have nothing to prove to anyone. Keep singing!Leannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11254822104453419736noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2023068524242748614.post-52581160570995483812017-02-08T18:46:12.441-09:002017-02-08T18:46:12.441-09:00Aliy, thanks for the great wrap up of YQ 300. It is SO personal. Aily, I don't know if you will see this, but I have worried about your experience on the trail should you encounter a strange snowmachine. As someone else posted in another venue, you "Zirkled on". Know that so many are proud of you, admiring of you and supportive of you. You set the bar high for you, for your dogs and for us for such an example to follow. If you were not anticipating a win with this team, the future certainly looks bright for SPK. Thanks for being such a great leader (and follower)!Charlene&Lisanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2023068524242748614.post-55385967979895502402017-02-08T12:59:35.994-09:002017-02-08T12:59:35.994-09:00A magnificent review of the YQ300 and the young Re...A magnificent review of the YQ300 and the young Red Team performance, doggie by doggie!!!

Thanks ever so much for that!!!

Thank you as well for insights on Chena!!!

Fondly,

MargaretAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2023068524242748614.post-1747216223920691172017-02-08T12:25:25.989-09:002017-02-08T12:25:25.989-09:00I love every detail of this wrap-up. It amazes me what dog's will remember, for a long time, like the horse incident. Ginger and Ernie are definitely learning a lot this year. I look forward to watching them mature into experienced sled dogs. Woody, Iron and Drive, you are awesome! It was fun to see Driver and Iron side by side at the start of the race. With their color and markings they stand out.
