Iditarod 2010: Official Starts

Here they are! The 2010 Iditarod SP Kennel Official Starts!

I've got some good Pre-Start footage, but I'm honestly too tired to do it justice in editing. So, I'll "get after it" in the morning. Besides, we've got a long race ahead of us and it will be good to pace ourselves! Stay tuned!

THANK YOU MAC! Now you better get some sleep because you have some busy days ahead of you, and so do the rest of us fans.

Wow, it seems like everyone caught that fantastic picture of Aliy as well as the changes in the teams.

It is 1050 PST. Awhile ago I noticed that Allen passed Aliy, who has stopped for a while. Their close start times as well as the GPS make this race much more interesting. Makes me really wonder about who ended up on which team as well as other things...

How will you be covering the race, Mac? That is, are there certain checkpoints you will be at? Do the SPKennel handlers go to certain checkpoints? I would think they realistically can't be at all or even most of the checkpoints. Some look only accessible by plane or by snowmachine. Will Aliy's dad be at a checkpoint like he was last year?

Loved your "posts," especially the videos. Thanks for the explanation regarding all those people holding down the sleds.

Hope you got a good night's sleep.

Aliy surging ahead to Skwentna, in/out 2nd , and Allen there, too, ahead? Love watching strategy unroll.
The fun begins, and know they're glad to be OUT there!! GPS isn't working right?

WOW..looks like Aliy took a break just before Finger Lake in SECOND PLACE and is still resting at 4:30am. Allen is already rolling this am, and is almost to Skwentna River doing 9.5 mph..
