Iditarod 2010: Friday Festivities

Today was actually a pretty calm day, especially compared to the pace we are accustomed to! This morning, Aliy and Allen attended the big mushers' meeting and visited with a couple of Kennel sponsors. After that, we spent the afternoon and evening here at our Clarion Suites HQ. Among the festivities...

Various media stopped by for interviews (I'll try to get links for you):

Lots of people dropped by to visit with the dogs and ask questions:

The "Meet & Greet" this evening was a huge success with an overflow crowd. Aliy and Allen talked at length about Iditarod gear, the trail and, of course, the dogs!

Aliy and Allen were quite busy at the end signing autographs:

We brought in some dogs, and they really stole the show. Here you can see sweet Spot in her absolute glory, surrounded by adoring kids and getting (almost) all the attention she craves!

We've just finished our "team dinner" and have a couple of hours of preparation to do for tomorrow. Bright and early we will load up and head over to the starting area... Stay tuned!

Aily starts at about 7:36 in, I believe this is the interview that you already did sound bites?

Spot looks like she is in Heaven! I can't imagine her getting up and running 1,000 miles in the next 9? days?
