Clyde Update: "Put Me In Coach, I'm Ready To Play Today!"

Clyde is FANTASTIC!

He caught a flight from Unalakleet and arrived into Nome last night. He had been well looked after in Unk, in fact maybe TOO well looked after as he had put a little weight on! We heard reports that he was a real favourite with the team there as he was so friendly and sweet, and he ate everything he was offered.

Today Aliy, Chris and Bridgett took small teams of the most energetic dogs for a run today back up the coast and Clyde wanted to go!! Aliy's verdict when they got back: "There are some attitudes on those dogs right now!"

Just magic Aliy, fantastic run this year. These darn Seavey's get in the way all the time.
Apart from you having a horrendous experience on the trail, you seem to be a contender. I salute you tenacity and resolve to carry on. So well done to you and your dogs. Admiration sent heart felt from the UK.

Love it that the dogs are feeling sassy and ready for more! Great that you're getting out on some runs while you count down to the banquet. I'm sure sleeping, eating, sleeping, eating, cheering in an incoming musher, sleeping, some visiting, and more sleeping are great but I'll bet time with the dogs rates as the most fun!

So glad Clyde is doing well! You have been a favorite musher among my students as we have followed the race over the last 6 years. You have been in our thoughts and prayers through your trip. Thank you for being an inspiration to many!

Way to go Clyde! After that mean snow machine hit you, we were all worried but you have recovered and we are all more thankful than can be imagined. Aliy's smile is what we are all feeling. Enjoy yourself and eat and play with your 'family' again. Have fun. You are a resilient and strong athlete and will run more races for SP Kennel. Love and sorrow going out to Jeff King and family for having to say goodbye to Nash. Lots of love to both Aliy and Jeff for having to live through such a nightmare. But like someone said in an earlier post - do what the dogs do - kick some dirt and grass on that sh-- and run off to join the excitement of another day. Thank you for these great posts. I enjoy the stories, the updates, the pictures. Thank you for sharing this time with us. Red and Black teams were both inspirational this year - both champion teams in my book. Shining examples of what dogsled racing should look like. Good for all of you. Cheering and congratulations from Minnesota - wish I could be at the upcoming banquet to personally congratulate you.

Soo very happy to see Clyde and Aliy smile. Great he could come up to Nome instead of all the way to Anch. Thank you for sharing these special moments : dog- fun- run after the race. It snowed so much here! Dogs smile for you and your smiling dogs.

Tears are in my eyes and I can hear that song playing in my head, "Put me in coach......." and ready to play he is written all over his face. The smile on Aliy's face and the look on Clyde's face is priceless and indescribable. Thank you for the updates!
