Allen on the Trail to Fairbanks

Allen left the Two Rivers Check Point right on time at 5:35 am AST. He left with all 10 dogs. We expect him to be at the Pleasant Valley Store about 10:30. The next hour will have the team mushing close to SP Kennel. Right now I am guessing he will finish around 5 to 6 pm at the Cushman Street bridge in Downtown Fairbanks.

Here are some pictures from the Two Rivers Check Point.

I just arrived in Antwerp after 16 days crossing the North Atlantic on a freighter without internet, and what's the first thing I do? Spend hours catching up on an amazing race story! Congrats to the entire SPK team... You rock!

Great photos - great post - thanks!

Hoping that the run past the kennel goes smoothly. I have faith in the dogs and I just know they will bypass the trails to their dog yard.

Regarding the thermometer photo: based on a December Dog Log post by Aliy and in all the quotes/YouTube videos from mushers during this race isn't the proper word CHILLY?

Tell us the truth: mushers are given a list of secret passwords when they buy their first dog sled and at the top of the list it tells them that "cold" is a forbidden word...

Looking forward to news of Allen crossing the finish line. I'm glued to the tracker and not getting much work done.
