Iditarod 2010: Drive & Arrive

Those of you who were with us last year may recall that our drive to Anchorage was an 11 hour ordeal of blizzards, slick roads and just about everything Alaska can throw at a road trip. We are delighted to report that our drive this year was just about the opposite: Clear, mostly dry roads with no hassles and no delays. We left the Kennel at 7am and "dropped" the dogs by the roadside for a potty break at about 11am.

Then it was just another 4 hours to our destination at the Clarion Suites Downtown where we "dropped" the dogs again and gave them a hot meal.

Within the hour now, we humans will head over to the Mushers' Banquet for -- among other festivities -- the bib number drawing. Stay tuned!
