Mac I get an ERROR message - HELP! Sindy
Ok nevermind, I got it Mac. That was SO AWESOME!!! The scenery was spectacular and the descent to Happy River is very dramatic but it didn't seem as though the team had the slightest problem....likely due to the drivers calm confidence! Thanks Aliy for shooting it, and Mac for editing/posting! What a team! Sindy
Wow!!! What a fantastic true insider view of Iditarod!!!Thank you so much Aliy and SP Kennel and your FABULOUS website/blog!!!--Margaret in CTP.S. Go Cha Cha!!!
What a ride!!!! I hope no one ever is on that trail in front of our team!
That looks like a ridiculous amount of fun! Again, beautiful scenery. Thank you for sharing :)
OMG, great job Aliy. What beautiful scenery. We've heard so much about the steps... it was breathtaking to actually take a ride thru them with you. Wonderful videos!!
The best ever!
What a breathtaking ride, especially on Steps 2 and 3! I was surprised to see so many photographers out there. I need to take one of your spring trips!
What a grand adventure on the Happy river Steps...especially 2 and 3- I loved the ride. I am surprised so many photographers were out there too. Now I know I need to take a spring trip with you guys.
Wow, I felt like I was on a rollercoaster! Looked like alot of fun!
I almost couldn't watch it all. I have an inner ear infection, with some vertigo, and watching this on a full screen was almost more than I could manage. Thanks for a front seat view of going down the Steps. Good job, dogs! Thanks. I'll be sure to come back and watch this again when I have a little more equilibrium. :)
aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!what a ride.the trail looks good & fast.good to come to know the steps :o)looks as if the dogs get faster the steeper it gets.what a treat.thanks, Aliy.
Kind of looks like a sled dog roller coaster! Oh - My!!!Hang on for the ride!!!!!Priceless video - Thank you for sharing it.
Love the Aily Cam. Great footage. The Happy Steps is one of those spots on the trail which I've always imagined in my mind's eye and real thing is even better. If I didn't already want to learn to mush this would sure convince me.
Aliy,THANK YOU SO MUCH for showing us the Happy Steps. Last year when I followed the Iditarod and your and Allen's journey for the first time, I had heard about how difficult it was. I wondered what it was about this part of the trail that could easily cause a wipe out. It was totally AWESOME to get a "ride" going down these Steps. I just know that this video will be referred to over and over as fans talk about and follow the Iditarod race.Your Aliy Cam videos totally rock! Again, thank you for your time in doing these videos. And a big thanks to Mac, for the MANY hours spent in editing them. You also totally rock, Mac!Best wishes to the future of SP Kennel.
Fascinating ... thanks once again for letting us all ride along. It is amazing to see what this type of event is like from the perspective of a musher.
Fantastic footage!!! Amazing ride...Now if it is the steep on this side going down, how steep was it on the up side. As a cyclist, I know there is always a hill climb before a decent. Thanks again for all the footage, Aliy and Mac, and the Dogs. You guys provide the best Iditarod coverage by far!!!Well done to both teams.Graham, Poole, England.
Incredible footage. Thank you so much!
Wow ~ That was a thrill!!! Definitely not for the faint of heart!
Thank you so much for the Aliy-cam of the Happy River Steps. I understand the steps were easier than previous years but it's still quite the thrill to watch.
I have watched this segment several times am amazed!!!I have to assume (bad word) that the wheel position of the dogs is a very important assignment. Those dogs get pushed and pulled all over the trail! They need to be very agile and able to adjust very quickly without being hurt. Wheel is a very demanding position in rough teraine (sp)!
That was fantastic!
